Remodel 1950s Home

This home was designed to make the most of spectacular views and a narrow lot. Design, engineering and craftsmanship come together in this spare and contemporary dwelling made almost entirely of windows. The entrance leads to a dramatic custom-designed staircase constructed with steel stringers and oak treads backed by a window that runs vertically through the house. A first level painting studio, guest bedroom and wine cellar give way to a warm second story common area with fireplaces in the dining and living rooms and views of the Olympics and Seattle’s downtown area. A large gourmet kitchen, generous pantry and bathroom are situated conveniently in the middle. A deck with galvanized handrails and horizontal cable allows for closer inspection of the view. On the third level are the family’s private quarters, a bedroom and a spacious master suite with a large tiled shower and Japanese soaking tub.

Featured in the Seattle Times and winner of REX and Gold Nugget awards.
